Heating your home with designer radiators

An article written by Martin Peters, 9th January 2009

For anyone living in a country that experiences cold winters such as in Northern and Western Europe, then central heating and radiators are probably one of the most necessary things that you can have in a home. Radiators are a practical item, they keep rooms warm, and people often use them as area to push a clothes horse up against to dry their clothes. The big problem with radiators in the past has been the ugliness of them. The one size fits all; bog standard radiator often stuck out like an unwelcome house guest, and could ruin the visual appearance of an otherwise beautiful room. Ok, they were practical, but as more and more people spend time on interior design in their homes, there has become more of a need for designer radiators. So what is a designer radiator?

Companies such as Radiator Factory have tapped into the niche market, providing the discerning customer with a wide range of radiators that will stylishly fit into any environment. These are not all contemporary in design, as not all environments would be suited to having a contemporary radiator. The important thing with a designer radiator is that, the performance of the radiator is not affected by the design. These are all fully functional radiators, which help provide an efficient central heating system. In fact, designer radiators do not equate to designer prices. Companies such as Radiator Factory source a number of suppliers to bring to their customers the latest style and ranges, so there radiators. The classic style radiator is one that the majority of people are familiar with, seen in houses, hospitals and offices up and down the country; this style is fairly timeless, unlike the 1970's influenced panel radiators that have invaded homes and offices.

Radiator Factory again, has a number of options in this style, ranging from small sizes to vertical style, all beautifully crafted, as would expected from any designer radiator company. Again further designer radiators are available, take for instance the curved radiator, which will fit into different shaped environments snugly, ensuring that spaces in rooms or offices are not wasted, or ruined in appearance by an ill fitting radiator. The range is further intriguing, by design of the mirrored radiator, a radiator which has both the practicalities of heat, and also the aesthetic appearance of a mirror. In essence again, this designer radiator ensures that space is optimized with a touch of style. It is the architectural range of radiators that is most astonishing, contemporary radiators, with dashing designs, that could fir all manner of environments. These designer radiators are truly radiators for the 21st century, and encompass such designs as The Abacus Radiator, The X-Stream Radiator, The Hose ( a designer radiator that looks like a hose), and so many other products that will quite frankly give any potential customer what they want.
